Activities
ON-SITE ACTIVITIES:
Game Viewing – 26° South offers very flexible 2-hour morning or afternoon safaris within the 1600 hectares Cradle Moon Conservancy. Our expert guides are there to show you nature at its best, and although we do not offer Big 5 safaris, the conservancy boasts prolific sightings of wildlife; Rhino, Eland, Kudu, Red Hartebeest, Black Wildebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Duiker, Impala, Springbok, Blesbok, Jackal and Aardwolf and many more on the reserve. Children of all ages are also welcome to enjoy this experience. Please contact our front desk for more information – subject to availability
Quad Biking – 1 Hour – 26˚South offers guests an adventurous on site quad biking activity, come and explore nature at its best on a four wheeler that guarantees fun for all. Children under the age of 18 years are not allowed to participate in quad bike activities as a driver, however, children 6+ years can double up with an adult driver. 100% Cancellation fee will apply unless cancelled due to bad weather conditions.
Fishing adventure – 2 hours – Guests will be accompanied to the river sections and hosted by an experienced SFA fishing guide. Please enquire with reception, pre–bookings essential and subject to availability (preferably 2 or 3 days’ notice).
Mountain Bike Trails – whether you are feeling adventurous or in the mood for a more sedate pace, we’ve got you covered with our exciting mountain bike trails which offer an assortment of trails ideal for experienced as well as beginner riders.
With a total trail length of 20 km starting and ending at the hotel, the 26° South yellow trail heads down on the game drive road towards the river where you can take your own route if you feel the entire trail is too much. So, if you are ready for a day outdoors on your own bike, come and enjoy for only R50 per person per day (cost may vary slightly according to season).
Hiking Trails & Bird Watching – 26° South offer a beautiful 10 km hiking trail through the Cradle Moon Conservancy: Again, for our beginners or families just wanting to spend an hour of enjoying the wonderful plains game viewing opportunities, come and enjoy the beautiful surrounding scenery
