Lake Mokoba

Set along the perennial Gomoti River in the southern Okavango Delta, Lake Mokoba Tented Camp overlooks a tranquil lake teeming with hippos and crocodiles. The camp takes its name from the Mokoba — the local term for the Knobthorn tree, a resilient acacia species that flourishes in this part of Botswana.

The off-the-grid camp is made up of 8 River Tents and 2 Family River Tents, each featuring a king-size bed (convertible to twins on request), an en-suite bathroom, a private viewing deck, a stand-up fan and electrical outlets. At its heart is an open-plan lounge, dining room and bar area, complemented by a boma for evenings under the African sky and complimentary Wi-Fi in the common areas only.

Known for its abundant wildlife and year-round safari experiences, the area invites guests to explore on guided bush walks, tranquil mokoro excursions and boat cruises along the river. A private heli-pad offers a 20-minute scenic helicopter flight over the Delta, and the camp is easily reached from Maun by road in around 1 hour and 30 minutes.
